| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 171, Election Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 171.0222 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 171.0222. REMOVAL OF CHAIR. The county executive | ||
| committee may remove a county chair for cause, including failure to | ||
| properly perform the chair's duties to the political party, a | ||
| violation of a policy or procedure adopted by the state or county | ||
| executive committee, or a violation of a law of this state or the | ||
| United States, on a written charge and after a public hearing. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. | ||
