relating to a requirement regarding the inclusion of certain | ||
residential property in a school district's boundaries. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 13, Education Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 13.232 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 13.232. SUBDIVISION BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENT. The | ||
commissioner by rule shall adopt procedures for school districts to | ||
adjust boundaries to ensure that all homes in a particular | ||
residential subdivision are included in the same district. | ||
SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | ||
of this Act, the commissioner of education shall adopt procedures | ||
as necessary to implement Section 13.232, Education Code, as added | ||
by this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
