BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 1251.052 of the Estates Code is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 1251.052. QUALIFICATION AND DURATION OF CERTAIN | ||
TEMPORARY GUARDIANSHIPS. (a) | ||
A temporary guardian appointed under | ||
Section 1251.051 must qualify in the same form and manner required | ||
of a guardian under this title. | ||
(b) The term of a temporary guardian appointed under Section | ||
1251.051 expires: | ||
(1) at the conclusion of the hearing challenging or | ||
contesting the application; | ||
(2) on the date a permanent guardian appointed by the | ||
court for the proposed ward qualifies to serve as the ward's | ||
guardian; or | ||
(3) at the expiration of six months from the date of | ||
qualification of the temporary guardian unless it is extended upon | ||
court order after a motion to extend is filed and a hearing is held | ||
whichever comes first. |
