coverage provided under the uniform group coverage program for | ||
certain active school employees and their dependents. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. STUDY; REGIONAL RATING METHOD. The Teacher | ||
Retirement System of Texas shall conduct a study of the benefits and | ||
disadvantages of establishing a regional rating method for | ||
determining premiums charged in different regions of the state for | ||
benefits provided under a plan of group coverage administered by | ||
the system under Chapter 1579, Insurance Code. | ||
SECTION 2. REPORT. Not later than December 1, 2016, the | ||
Teacher Retirement System of Texas shall report the results of the | ||
study conducted under Section 1 of this Act to the speaker of the | ||
house of representatives, the lieutenant governor, and the standing | ||
committees of the house and the senate with jurisdiction over the | ||
retirement system and insurance. The report must be accompanied by | ||
recommendations for legislation, if appropriate. | ||
SECTION 3. EXPIRATION. Sections 1 and 2 of this Act and | ||
this section expire September 1, 2017. | ||
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act takes effect September | ||
1, 2015. |
