| relating to the sale of mobility motor vehicles by certain dealers. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 2301, Occupations Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 2301.2521 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 2301.2521. SALE OF NEW MOTOR VEHICLES BY CERTAIN | ||
| DEALERS. Notwithstanding Section 2301.252(a), a person who holds a | ||
| franchised dealer's license issued under this chapter may sell a | ||
| new mobility motor vehicle that is a conversion, regardless of | ||
| whether the person is a franchisee for the make of the motor vehicle | ||
| that was converted, if the person obtains the new mobility motor | ||
| vehicle from an independent mobility motor vehicle dealer operating | ||
| in a county that borders Lake Palestine and has a population of more | ||
| than 200,000. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
