relating to requiring the Department of Family and Protective | ||
Services to adopt a process to allow a foster parent to donate a | ||
foster care payment to the department. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 264, Family Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 264.131 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 264.131. DONATION OF FOSTER CARE PAYMENTS. (a) The | ||
department shall adopt a policy to allow a foster parent to donate | ||
to the department a payment made under Section 264.101. | ||
(b) The department may use a donation authorized under this | ||
section: | ||
(1) in accordance with Section 264.101(e); | ||
(2) to provide adoption assistance under Chapter 162; | ||
or | ||
(3) to provide any other assistance for a foster child | ||
authorized by Title 5. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
