relating to requiring the Port of Houston Authority to comply with | ||
historically underutilized business provisions. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 5007, Special District | ||
Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 5007.229 to read as | ||
follows: | ||
Sec. 5007.229. HISTORICALLY UNDERUTILIZED BUSINESSES. | ||
Chapter 2161, Government Code, applies to the authority in the same | ||
manner as if the authority were a state agency subject to that | ||
chapter. | ||
SECTION 2. (a) Not later than December 1, 2015, the Port of | ||
Houston Authority shall adopt the rules required to implement the | ||
change in law made by this Act. | ||
(b) Section 5007.229, Special District Local laws Code, as | ||
added by this Act, applies only to a purchase of goods or services | ||
or a contract entered into on or after January 1, 2016. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
