relating to recording the status of certain home studies performed | ||
by the Department of Family and Protective Services. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 262.114, Family Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows: | ||
(a-3) The department shall maintain an electronic record of | ||
the status of a home study required under Subsection (a) of a | ||
potential relative or designated caregiver. | ||
SECTION 2. Section 262.114(a-3), Family Code, as added by | ||
this Act, applies only to a home study performed on or after the | ||
effective date of this Act. A home study performed before the | ||
effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the | ||
date the home study was performed, and the former law is continued | ||
in effect for that purpose. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
