| relating to requiring the Texas Workforce Commission to pay the | ||
| cost of taking a high school equivalency examination for certain | ||
| individuals. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 315.002, Labor Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | ||
| (b-1) For an individual who is 21 years of age or older, the | ||
| commission shall pay the cost of taking one complete high school | ||
| equivalency examination administered under Section 7.111, | ||
| Education Code, and made available by a test vendor approved and | ||
| contracted by the State Board of Education, including an | ||
| examination that is administered in multiple parts. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
