relating to requiring the Texas Workforce Commission to pay the | ||
cost of taking a high school equivalency examination for certain | ||
individuals. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 315.002, Labor Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | ||
(b-1) For an individual who is 21 years of age or older, the | ||
commission shall pay the cost of taking one complete high school | ||
equivalency examination administered under Section 7.111, | ||
Education Code, and made available by a test vendor approved and | ||
contracted by the State Board of Education, including an | ||
examination that is administered in multiple parts. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
