| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 11, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 11.005 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 11.005. USE OF RELOCATABLE EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES. | ||
| (a) In this section, "relocatable educational facility" has the | ||
| meaning assigned by Section 1202.004, Occupations Code. | ||
| (b) This section applies only to a school district in which: | ||
| (1) the district's administrative offices are located | ||
| in a building that is not a relocatable educational facility; and | ||
| (2) student instruction takes place in a relocatable | ||
| educational facility. | ||
| (c) A school district subject to this section shall: | ||
| (1) move the district's administrative offices to a | ||
| relocatable educational facility; and | ||
| (2) convert the building in which the district's | ||
| administrative offices were located into classrooms for student | ||
| instruction. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2023-2024 | ||
| school year. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
