BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 301.157, Occupations Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (b-2) to read as follows: | ||
(b-2) The programs of study prescribed by the board under | ||
Subsections (a) and (b) must include a requirement that a student in | ||
the program complete a minimum number of clinical hours at a | ||
long-term care facility as defined by Section 255.001, Health and | ||
Safety Code, including a tour of a long-term care facility. | ||
SECTION 2. Not later than December 1, 2023, the Texas Board | ||
of Nursing shall adopt rules as necessary to implement Section | ||
301.157(b-2), Occupations Code, as added by this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
