BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Chapter 224, Subtitle B, Title 6, Transportation | ||
Code, is amended by adding Subchapter G to read as follows: | ||
SUBCHAPTER G. HIKE AND BIKE CORRIDORS | ||
Sec. 202.115. ESTABLISHMENT. The commission may acquire | ||
real property or an interest in real property or purchase an option | ||
to acquire real property for possible use in or in connection with | ||
the establishment of hike and bike corridors. | ||
Sec. 202.116 FUNDING. The commission may use federal | ||
funds, appropriated funds, local funds, or private funds to | ||
construct hike and bike corridors. | ||
Sec. 202.116 CORRIDORS. (a) HILL COUNTRY HIKE AND BIKE | ||
TRAIL. The commission may utilize powers granted by this | ||
subchapter or other chapters to plan and construct a hike and bike | ||
corridor along U.S. 290 in Blanco and Gillespie counties. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
