| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 33, Education Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 33.025 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 33.025. LIBRARIANS. (a) Each school district and | ||
| open-enrollment charter school shall ensure that a librarian is | ||
| present during at least half of each school day at each district or | ||
| school campus. | ||
| (b) The commissioner shall adopt rules as necessary to | ||
| implement this section. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2026-2027 | ||
| school year. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
