relating to the applicability to open-enrollment charter schools of | ||
certain law regarding travel expenses. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 12.1058, Education Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (n) to read as follows: | ||
(n) An open-enrollment charter school and an officer, | ||
employee, or member of the governing body of an open-enrollment | ||
charter school are subject to Section 660.093, Government Code, as | ||
though the school were a state agency and the officer, employee, or | ||
member were a state employee, regardless of whether state funds are | ||
used to pay or reimburse for the travel of the officer, employee, or | ||
member. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
