relating to school district compliance with certain school safety | ||
measures; providing an administrative penalty. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 37, Education Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 37.219 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 37.219. REPORT OF NONCOMPLIANCE WITH CERTAIN SCHOOL | ||
SAFETY MEASURES. (a) The center shall report to the agency if a | ||
school district fails to comply with a requirement under any of the | ||
following provisions: | ||
(1) Section 37.108(a), (b), or (c); | ||
(2) Section 37.109; | ||
(3) Section 37.207(b); or | ||
(4) Section 37.2121(d). | ||
(b) If the agency receives a report under Subsection (a) of | ||
a school district's failure to comply, the agency may impose an | ||
administrative penalty against the district in an amount not | ||
greater than the amount of the annual salary of the district's | ||
superintendent. | ||
(c) The commissioner may adopt rules as necessary to | ||
implement this section. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
