relating to the use of parental child safety placements. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 264, Family Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 264.908 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 264.908. USE OF PARENTAL CHILD SAFETY PLACEMENTS. (a) | ||
Notwithstanding other law, the department shall use a parental | ||
child safety placement in each case in which the department | ||
determines it is appropriate. | ||
(b) If the department determines that a parental child | ||
safety placement is not appropriate, the department shall: | ||
(1) record in writing in the child's case file the | ||
reasons the department determined a parental child safety placement | ||
was not appropriate; and | ||
(2) notify the child's state representative and state | ||
senator about the department's decision and the reasons the | ||
department determined a parental child safety placement was not | ||
appropriate. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
