| relating to state agency reports submitted to the legislature. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 2052.0021, Government Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: | ||
| (e) Notwithstanding a law that requires a state agency to | ||
| submit a report to the legislature for an indefinite period, a state | ||
| agency: | ||
| (1) is not required to submit the report to the | ||
| legislature after the 10th anniversary of the date the state agency | ||
| first submitted the report to the legislature; and | ||
| (2) shall state in each report submitted under the law | ||
| requiring the report the date after which the agency is not required | ||
| to submit the report to the legislature as provided by Subdivision | ||
| (1). | ||
| (f) A state agency that elects not to submit a report to the | ||
| legislature as authorized by Subsection (e)(1) shall notify the | ||
| Texas State Library and Archives Commission, in a form and manner | ||
| prescribed by the commission, that the state agency has elected not | ||
| to submit the report. The notice must be provided not later than the | ||
| date the report would otherwise be due. The commission shall | ||
| maintain a publicly available list of the reports state agencies | ||
| have elected not to submit under Subsection (e). | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
