A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to state agency reports submitted to the legislature.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 2052.0021, Government Code, is amended
  by adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows:
         (e)  Notwithstanding a law that requires a state agency to
  submit a report to the legislature for an indefinite period, a state
  agency:
               (1)  is not required to submit the report to the
  legislature after the 10th anniversary of the date the state agency
  first submitted the report to the legislature; and
               (2)  shall state in each report submitted under the law
  requiring the report the date after which the agency is not required
  to submit the report to the legislature as provided by Subdivision
  (1).
         (f)  A state agency that elects not to submit a report to the
  legislature as authorized by Subsection (e)(1) shall notify the
  Texas State Library and Archives Commission, in a form and manner
  prescribed by the commission, that the state agency has elected not
  to submit the report. The notice must be provided not later than the
  date the report would otherwise be due. The commission shall
  maintain a publicly available list of the reports state agencies
  have elected not to submit under Subsection (e).
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
