relating to state agency reports submitted to the legislature. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 2052.0021, Government Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: | ||
(e) Notwithstanding a law that requires a state agency to | ||
submit a report to the legislature for an indefinite period, a state | ||
agency: | ||
(1) is not required to submit the report to the | ||
legislature after the 10th anniversary of the date the state agency | ||
first submitted the report to the legislature; and | ||
(2) shall state in each report submitted under the law | ||
requiring the report the date after which the agency is not required | ||
to submit the report to the legislature as provided by Subdivision | ||
(1). | ||
(f) A state agency that elects not to submit a report to the | ||
legislature as authorized by Subsection (e)(1) shall notify the | ||
Texas State Library and Archives Commission, in a form and manner | ||
prescribed by the commission, that the state agency has elected not | ||
to submit the report. The notice must be provided not later than the | ||
date the report would otherwise be due. The commission shall | ||
maintain a publicly available list of the reports state agencies | ||
have elected not to submit under Subsection (e). | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
