relating to a study on mold contamination in housing developments | ||
supported by financial assistance administered by the Texas | ||
Department of Housing and Community Affairs. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. (a) In this section, "department" means the | ||
Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. | ||
(b) Using existing resources, the department shall conduct | ||
a study on the number of incidents and causes of mold contamination | ||
in housing developments that are wholly or partly supported by | ||
financial assistance administered by the department. | ||
(c) Not later than September 1, 2024, the department shall | ||
prepare and submit to the legislature a written report that | ||
summarizes the results of the study conducted under this section | ||
and recommends a course of action for preventing and remediating | ||
incidents and causes of mold contamination in housing developments | ||
that are wholly or partly supported by financial assistance | ||
administered by the department. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act expires September 1, 2025. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
