relating to the execution of a warrant issued for certain | ||
individuals who violate a condition of release on parole or to | ||
mandatory supervision. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 508.2525 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 508.2525. WARRANT FOR CERTAIN VIOLATIONS OF | ||
SUPER-INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROGRAM. A law enforcement agency | ||
shall execute, as soon as practicable, a warrant that is directed to | ||
the agency and issued for the return of a releasee in the | ||
super-intensive supervision program based on a violation of a | ||
condition of parole or mandatory supervision related to the | ||
electronic monitoring of the releasee. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | ||
to an arrest warrant that is issued on or after the effective date | ||
of this Act. An arrest warrant that was issued before the effective | ||
date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the | ||
warrant was issued, and the former law is continued in effect for | ||
that purpose. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
