relating to the categories of performance for which a public school | ||
campus may receive a distinction designation. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 39.203(c), Education Code, is amended to | ||
read as follows: | ||
(c) In addition to the distinction designations described | ||
by Subsections (a) and (b), a campus that satisfies the criteria | ||
developed under Section 39.204 shall be awarded a distinction | ||
designation by the commissioner for the following programs or the | ||
following specific categories of performance: | ||
(1) academic achievement in English language arts, | ||
mathematics, science, or social studies; | ||
(2) fine arts; | ||
(3) physical and health education and wellness; | ||
(4) 21st Century Workforce Development program; and | ||
(5) second language acquisition program. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
