relating to the interpretation of certain laws protecting the free | ||
exercise of religion. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 110.009(b), Civil Practice and Remedies | ||
Code, is amended to read as follows: | ||
(b) The protection of religious freedom afforded by this | ||
chapter is in addition to the protections provided under federal | ||
law and the constitutions of this state and the United States. This | ||
chapter may not be construed to affect or interpret Section 4, 5, 6, | ||
6-a, or 7, Article I, Texas Constitution. | ||
SECTION 2. The amendment by this Act of Section 110.009, | ||
Civil Practice and Remedies Code, is intended to clarify rather | ||
than change existing law. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
