A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to supervision of the conduct of a primary election;
  creating an offense.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 31.092, Election Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
         (f)  A county election officer commits an offense if the
  election officer prevents the county chair or the county chair's
  designee from supervising the conduct of the primary election,
  including the tabulation of results, as required by Chapter 172.  An
  offense under this subsection is a Class B misdemeanor. 
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
