| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, | ||
| is amended by adding Section 504.416 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 504.416. STAR OF TEXAS AWARD RECIPIENTS. The | ||
| department shall issue specialty license plates for persons who are | ||
| recipients of a Star of Texas Award under Chapter 3106, Government | ||
| Code. The license plates must include the Star of Texas Award | ||
| emblem and the words "Star of Texas." | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. | ||
