WHEREAS, Section 14, Article IV, Texas Constitution, | ||
authorizes the governor to disapprove a bill passed by both houses | ||
of the legislature and presented to the governor for approval; and | ||
WHEREAS, Section 14, Article IV, Texas Constitution, further | ||
authorizes the legislature, if the legislature is in session, to | ||
reconsider and approve a bill the governor has disapproved, and as a | ||
result the bill shall become law; and | ||
WHEREAS, The governor has disapproved H.B. No. 2138, as | ||
passed by the 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013, while the | ||
legislature is in session; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED by the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas, 1st | ||
Called Session, 2013, That the legislature in accordance with | ||
Section 14, Article IV, Texas Constitution, hereby approve H.B. No. | ||
2138, and that bill hereby becomes law notwithstanding the | ||
objections of the governor. |
