| proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing elections for the | ||
| recall of independent school district trustees. | ||
| BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Article VII, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
| adding Section 3-c to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 3-c. The legislature may enact a general, local, or | ||
| special law authorizing the removal from office of a member of the | ||
| board of trustees of an independent school district by a majority | ||
| vote of the qualified voters of the school district voting at an | ||
| election held to recall the school district trustee. | ||
| SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
| submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2013. | ||
| The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the | ||
| proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing elections | ||
| for the recall of independent school district trustees." | ||
