proposing a constitutional amendment requiring this state to | ||
observe daylight saving time year-round. | ||
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Article XVI, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
adding Section 74 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 74. (a) This state shall observe daylight saving time | ||
year-round throughout the state. | ||
(b) This section applies to all portions of the state, | ||
regardless of time zone. | ||
(c) If a court finds this state is not authorized by federal | ||
law to implement this section, Subsections (a) and (b) of this | ||
section have full force and effect on the date the United States | ||
Congress enacts legislation that becomes law that authorizes this | ||
state to observe daylight saving time as prescribed by this | ||
section. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment requiring this state to | ||
observe daylight saving time year-round." |
