BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 65(a), Article XVI, Texas Constitution, | ||
is amended to read as follows: | ||
(a) This section applies to the following offices: District | ||
Clerks; County Clerks; County Judges; [ |

Attorneys; County Surveyors; County Commissioners; Justices of the | ||
Peace; Sheriffs; Assessors and Collectors of Taxes; District | ||
Attorneys; County Attorneys; Public Weighers; and Constables. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing certain | ||
judges to become a candidate for another office without | ||
automatically resigning from the office already held." |
