| proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the use of | ||
| available Veterans' Land Board money for the payment of educational | ||
| benefits for veterans. | ||
| BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 49-b, Article III, Texas Constitution, | ||
| is amended by adding Subsection (x) to read as follows: | ||
| (x) The legislature by general law may provide for the use | ||
| of available money in the Veterans' Land Fund, the Veterans' Housing | ||
| Assistance Fund, or the Veterans' Housing Assistance Fund II for | ||
| the payment of educational benefits for veterans. | ||
| SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
| submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2013. | ||
| The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the | ||
| proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the use of | ||
| available Veterans' Land Board money for the payment of educational | ||
| benefits for veterans." | ||
