proposing a constitutional amendment to reduce the number of | ||

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 10, Article III, Texas Constitution, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 10. QUORUM; ADJOURNMENTS FROM DAY TO DAY; COMPELLING | ||
ATTENDANCE. A majority [ |

the Legislature shall constitute a quorum to do business, but a | ||
smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and compel the | ||
attendance of absent members, in such manner and under such | ||
penalties as each House may provide. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment to provide that a | ||
majority of the members of the senate or house of representatives of | ||
the Texas Legislature constitutes a quorum for that house to do | ||
business." |
