| WHEREAS, William A. Hyslop of Houston is retiring as | ||
| president and chief executive officer of the MD Anderson Services | ||
| Corporation and the MD Anderson Physicians Network on February 28, | ||
| 2017, concluding a distinguished 30-year career in health care; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An alumnus of Trinity University, where he graduated | ||
| with a master's degree in health care administration in 1975, | ||
| Mr. Hyslop served for a decade as executive vice president and | ||
| chief operations officer of supporting organizations for The | ||
| University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston before | ||
| being named to his current position in March 2009; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Mr. Hyslop has | ||
| overseen three general acute-care hospitals and seven nonprofit | ||
| community hospitals; he also established the Hyslop Group, a | ||
| national consulting firm that specialized in health care mergers | ||
| and acquisitions, strategic business development, and start-up | ||
| company formations; and | ||
| WHEREAS, William Hyslop has demonstrated remarkable vision | ||
| and skill throughout three decades as a health care administrator, | ||
| and he may indeed reflect with pride on his notable achievements and | ||
| contributions; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate William A. Hyslop on his retirement | ||
| from the MD Anderson Services Corporation and the MD Anderson | ||
| Physicians Network and extend to him sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued happiness and fulfillment; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Hyslop as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
