WHEREAS, R. Jack Cagle concluded his service as Precinct 4 | ||
commissioner for the Harris County Commissioners Court in 2022; and | ||
WHEREAS, First taking office in 2011, Jack Cagle was | ||
reelected in 2014 and 2018; over the course of his tenure, he | ||
demonstrated a deep concern for his community while representing | ||
nearly 1.3 million residents and managing a staff of 445 employees; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle further benefited his fellow residents | ||
during his 11 years as judge of Harris County Civil Court at Law | ||
No. 1; he took an active role in his professional community, | ||
holding leadership positions with the Texas Association of County | ||
Court at Law Judges and the Association of Women Attorneys; | ||
moreover, he served on the board of the Houston-Galveston Area | ||
Council and the Public Power Pool, and he was a Republican precinct | ||
chair; he has received numerous honors for his accomplishments, | ||
including an award from the Mexican-American Bar Association of | ||
Houston; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle holds a bachelor's degree in history, | ||
economics, and managerial studies from Rice University and a doctor | ||
of jurisprudence degree from Baylor School of Law; in all his | ||
endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janet, and he | ||
takes great pride in their three children, Richard, Victoria, and | ||
Elizabeth; and | ||
WHEREAS, Through his dedicated leadership and commitment to | ||
good governance, Jack Cagle has contributed immeasurably to Harris | ||
County, and he has earned the lasting respect and appreciation of | ||
his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commend R. Jack Cagle for his service as Harris | ||
County commissioner for Precinct 4 and extend to him sincere best | ||
wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Cagle as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
