| WHEREAS, Lieutenant Danny Neill is retiring from the Euless | ||
| Police Department on March 28, 2013, drawing to a close a notable | ||
| career in law enforcement that has spanned more than three and a | ||
| half decades; and | ||
| WHEREAS, After joining the department as a patrol officer in | ||
| 1976, Mr. Neill earned his basic police officer license in 1977 and | ||
| his intermediate, advanced, and instructor licenses in 1985; that | ||
| same year, he was promoted to sergeant and became the supervisor of | ||
| the Narcotics Unit; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sergeant Neill went on to serve in the Patrol | ||
| Division and in Criminal Investigations, receiving his master | ||
| police officer license in 1996; in 2001, he was promoted to | ||
| lieutenant, and his subsequent duties include a stint in the | ||
| Service Division and participation on a joint task force with the | ||
| U.S. Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms | ||
| and Explosives; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Lieutenant Neill has enjoyed | ||
| the respect and admiration of his fellow officers; he was named | ||
| Officer of the Year in 1980 and Supervisor of the Year on two | ||
| occasions, in 1988 and 1990; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Lieutenant Neill's dedication, professionalism, and | ||
| commitment to protecting the safety and welfare of the public have | ||
| greatly benefited the citizens of Euless, and he may indeed reflect | ||
| with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting | ||
| chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Danny Neill on his | ||
| retirement from the Euless Police Department and extend to him | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Lieutenant Neill as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
