WHEREAS, Deputy Caleb Daniel Rule of the Fort Bend County | ||
Precinct 4 Constable's Office died in the line of duty on May 29, | ||
2020, at the age of 37, and his family, friends, colleagues, and | ||
community mourn the loss of this exemplary officer; and | ||
WHEREAS, Caleb Rule was born in Salina, Kansas, on June 5, | ||
1982, to Stanley R. Rule and Judith K. Daniels; he grew up with the | ||
companionship of a brother, Matt, and a sister, Carrie, and the | ||
family moved to Houston for a time before settling in Needville; and | ||
WHEREAS, Deputy Rule began his career in law enforcement as a | ||
dispatcher for the Rosenberg Police Department in 2002, and he | ||
subsequently worked as a correctional officer for the Fort Bend | ||
County Sheriff's Office; after joining the Missouri City Police | ||
Department in 2004, he went on to serve as a detective in that | ||
department from 2011 to 2018, as well as in numerous other | ||
capacities; he later excelled in his duties with the Fort Bend | ||
County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, where he was hired as a patrol | ||
deputy in September 2019; a humble and hardworking officer, he | ||
never shied away from difficult assignments and always sought out | ||
opportunities to better serve his department and community; he was | ||
also a dedicated mentor who found fulfillment in helping his | ||
younger colleagues hone their skills; and | ||
WHEREAS, An immensely proud family man, Deputy Rule enjoyed | ||
the love and support of his wife, Eden Rule, who was his high school | ||
sweetheart, and the couple were blessed with four children, Annie, | ||
Rosalan, Mark, and Lizzie; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Deputy Rule drew strength from | ||
his deep and abiding faith; he won the affection of all who knew him | ||
with his warm, gregarious personality and unique sense of humor, | ||
and he had a passion for music and for playing the guitar, as well as | ||
an interest in theater and photography; and | ||
WHEREAS, Deputy Rule embodied the highest ideals of his | ||
profession, and although he is greatly missed, his commitment to | ||
his calling and his love for his family will remain a lasting source | ||
of inspiration to those he left behind; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Deputy Caleb Daniel | ||
Rule and extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to | ||
his wife, Eden Rule; to his children, Annie, Rosalan, Mark, and | ||
Lizzie Rule; to his parents, Stan and Judy Rule; to his siblings, | ||
Matt and Carrie; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, | ||
be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Caleb Rule. | ||
