	H.R. No. 1290



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, On Memorial Day and Independence Day, Americans
	celebrate the many freedoms we enjoy as citizens of this nation and
	honor the sacrifices of those who have defended it; and
	WHEREAS, In recognition of the importance that love of
	country plays in their lives, citizens of Liberty Hill have taken
	their observance one step further by instituting a Freedom Season
	in the days spanning these two national holidays; during this
	period, area residents decorate their community in red, white, and
	blue, promote related church activities and civic events, and
	commemorate the season through media and the arts; and
	WHEREAS, Independence Day has also traditionally been a time
	when loved ones gather for family reunions to exchange fond
	memories and pay tribute to their shared heritage; likewise,
	Liberty Hill residents have sought to acknowledge the bonds that
	unite all citizens by encouraging participation in an American
	Family Reunion, and this notable observance of patriotism and
	liberty is indeed deserving of special commendation; now,
	therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
	Legislature hereby recognize July 1 through July 4, 2013, as the
	Texas Family Reunion and encourage all Texans to join together for a
	meaningful and memorable celebration of patriotism, freedom, and
	family.
