WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of | ||
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and M. E. "Jon" and Ila Jean | ||
Carothers of Crawford celebrated this joyous milestone in their | ||
marriage on March 3, 2011; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carothers were joined in matrimony in | ||
1961 at a ceremony held in Abilene; through the years, they have | ||
been blessed with a treasured family that includes their son, Ken, | ||
and his wife, Angela, with whom they share the many special | ||
occasions of life; and | ||
WHEREAS, Over the course of their marriage, Mr. Carothers | ||
worked for Texas Farm Bureau Insurance for 31 years and Mrs. | ||
Carothers was employed with Central Texas Iron Works and D & E | ||
Builders Supply; now enjoying a well-deserved retirement, they | ||
spend time pursuing their hobbies of woodworking and gardening; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Carothers have enjoyed five decades of | ||
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an | ||
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting | ||
commitment; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Jon and Ila Jean Carothers on their | ||
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for | ||
continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Carothers as an expression of high regard | ||
by the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
