| WHEREAS, Maria Fernanda Corral Barrera of El Paso Community | ||
| College has greatly benefited her fellow students through her | ||
| service as parliamentarian of the Student Government Association; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, The EPCC Student Government Association acts as the | ||
| voice of the student body to the college administration, with | ||
| elected members representing the interests and concerns of their | ||
| peers and advocating for students' rights; the organization also | ||
| provides leadership and professional development opportunities as | ||
| participants strive to improve the school's social and educational | ||
| experience; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In order to foster positive change, the EPCC Student | ||
| Government Association facilitates communication between students, | ||
| administration, faculty, staff, and community organizations; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Student Government Association plays a valuable | ||
| role in supporting El Paso Community College students as they | ||
| develop a solid educational foundation for future achievement, and | ||
| Maria Fernanda Corral Barrera is indeed worthy of recognition; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commend Maria Fernanda Corral Barrera for her | ||
| service as parliamentarian of the Student Government Association at | ||
| El Paso Community College and extend to her sincere best wishes for | ||
| the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Corral Barrera as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
