  Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are gathering
  on February 2, 2013, for the inaugural meeting of their group; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1890, the Daughters of the American
  Revolution is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving

  variety of activities, such as assisting veterans, providing
  scholarships, and supporting underserved schools; and
         WHEREAS, Charter members of the Bosque River Valley Chapter
  of the DAR selected the name of their group because of the river's
  significance to early settlers in the area; beginning in the
  mid-1800s, pioneer communities sprang up along the banks of the
  Bosque, and the abundant resources associated with the river proved
  essential to their survival; and

  the Bosque River Valley Chapter, among them the founding officers,
  regent Sue Moore Fielden; vice-regent Phyllis Alford Olson;
  chaplain Therissa Crabtree Young; recording secretary Ruth Ann
  Nelson Crawford; corresponding secretary MaryLynn Murphey Haynes;

  Marilyn Maxwell Holland; and librarian Betty Urban Johannes; and
         WHEREAS, By establishing a local chapter of the DAR, the

  generations to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the founding of the Bosque River
  Valley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and
