R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Dedicated volunteers helped to preserve the natural
  splendor of Lake Ray Roberts on March 16, 2013, during the 6th
  Annual Waterway Cleanup hosted by Keep Pilot Point Beautiful; and
         WHEREAS, Held in conjunction with the statewide Keep Texas
  Waterways Clean program, the event offered an opportunity for
  residents to donate their time in behalf of Lake Ray Roberts, a
  vital resource that provides recreational activities and drinking
  water for residents in nearby counties; and
         WHEREAS, This year, 18 people turned out on a Saturday
  morning to patrol the shoreline and collect trash and debris; after
  several hours, participants had filled nearly three dozen 30-gallon
  bags, totaling some 640 pounds of waste; and
         WHEREAS, Sustaining the ecological health and beauty of the
  Lone Star State requires an active and responsible citizenry, and
  by taking part in this worthwhile endeavor, these volunteers have
  demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the area they call home;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the participants in the 2013 Waterway
  Cleanup Day and extend to all those associated with Keep Pilot Point
  Beautiful sincere best wishes for continued success with their
  future endeavors.
