| WHEREAS, Isaias Barraza of Fabens High School participated in | ||
| the inaugural Youth Voice Empowerment Summit held at El Paso | ||
| Community College's Mission Del Paso Campus on October 28, 2023; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Carlos Hipolito-Delgado, interim executive | ||
| director of the Latino Research and Policy Center at the University | ||
| of Colorado Denver, was a featured speaker at the event; designed to | ||
| help students develop their leadership and decision-making skills, | ||
| the summit also has the goal of equipping youth with the tools | ||
| necessary to guide initiatives and important changes in their | ||
| schools and communities; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Isaias Barraza is a junior at Fabens High and is | ||
| actively involved in the campus community; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has demonstrated | ||
| exceptional drive and initiative and may indeed look forward to a | ||
| future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Isaias Barraza for | ||
| participating in the 2023 Youth Voice Empowerment Summit and extend | ||
| to this exemplary student sincere best wishes for the future; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Isaias Barraza as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
