| WHEREAS, The Panhandle High School girls' 1,600-meter relay | ||
| team took part in the 2013 University Interscholastic League Track & | ||
| Field State Meet for 1A Division 1, and the team members merit | ||
| special recognition for their skill and achievements; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Joining the top competitors in Texas at Mike A. | ||
| Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, Tess Rusk, Kenzy Cates, Stormy | ||
| Wood, and Jordan Molnar turned in a notable performance; they | ||
| achieved a time of 4 minutes, 4.54 seconds, to earn fourth place and | ||
| came very close to claiming a spot on the podium; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
| high school track and field athletes, these talented young Texans | ||
| have ably represented their school, and they may cherish their | ||
| memories of this notable accomplishment for years to come; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the members of | ||
| the Panhandle High School girls' 1,600-meter relay team on their | ||
| fourth-place finish in the 1A Division 1 competition at the UIL | ||
| Track & Field State Meet and extend to them sincere best wishes for | ||
| the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
