R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Sydney Ritter, a senior at Groom High School,
  achieved great distinction by winning four medals in 1A competition
  at the 2019 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State
  Meet; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the top high school athletes in Texas at
  Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 10, Ms. Ritter turned in an
  exemplary performance; she soared 38 feet, 0.5 inches, to claim
  gold in the triple jump and recorded a distance of 16 feet, 4.75
  inches, in the long jump to finish third; moreover, she sprinted to
  a silver-medal finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.89
  seconds, and she secured a bronze medal in the 100-meter dash,
  crossing the line in 12.77 seconds; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Ritter's fine showing closed out an exceptional
  high school career in which she won a total of 12 medals at the state
  meet; and
         WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
  high school track & field athletes, Sydney Ritter has ably
  represented her school and community, and she will cherish her
  memories of her outstanding accomplishments for years to come; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Sydney Ritter on winning four
  medals at the 2019 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Ritter as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
