| WHEREAS, University Kiddie Kollege Early Childhood | ||
| Development Center in Marshall is celebrating its 35th anniversary | ||
| from July 19 to 21, 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since 1978, University Kiddie Kollege ECDC has | ||
| provided preschool education for children in East Texas, and | ||
| through much of its history, the center has benefited from the | ||
| leadership of owner and director Gertrude E. Fisher; the faculty | ||
| strives to meet individual needs in order to help each student meet | ||
| his or her potential and build a strong foundation for further | ||
| academic achievement; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The center offers a wide range of programs that | ||
| enable youngsters to improve their social, cognitive, and | ||
| communication skills; students are given opportunities for | ||
| creative expression and are encouraged to explore activities that | ||
| help them develop a positive self-image, independence, confidence, | ||
| and a sense of discipline and responsibility; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is a vital enterprise | ||
| for every school in our state, and University Kiddie Kollege ECDC | ||
| has dedicated itself to that worthy goal for more than three | ||
| decades; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby recognize University | ||
| Kiddie Kollege Early Childhood Development Center on the 35th | ||
| anniversary of its founding and extend to the faculty and staff | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
