WHEREAS, it is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of | ||
Herlinda Rangel Chacon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, | ||
great-grandmother, and esteemed member of the Uvalde community; and | ||
WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was born on June 2, 1948, in | ||
Piedras Negras, Mexico, to Fernando and Petronila Rangel. She | ||
married Mario Chacon on April 26, 1963, in Piedras Negras, Mexico, | ||
and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage; and | ||
WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was a devoted mother to her 4 | ||
daughters, Rosalinda Chacon of Eagle Pass, Norma Chacon, Lorena | ||
Barrera, and Irma Chacon Barrera of Uvalde, as well as her son, | ||
Mario Chacon, Jr., and wife, Raquel, of Uvalde; and | ||
WHEREAS, she is also survived by her loving sisters, Martina | ||
Cardona of Washington, Maria Elena Rangel, and Leonor Rangel, both | ||
of Piedras Negras, Mexico, and her brother, Fernando Rangel of | ||
Uvalde; and | ||
WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon will be remembered fondly by | ||
her 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, | ||
nephews, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness, | ||
compassion, and warmth; and | ||
WHEREAS, she is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 | ||
brothers, her granddaughter Nelsy Azeneth Chacon Valdez, and | ||
great-granddaughter Joy Lynn Rangel; and | ||
WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon's life and legacy will be | ||
cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have | ||
known her; and | ||
WHEREAS, the Uvalde community has suffered a great loss with | ||
the passing of Herlinda Rangel Chacon, and it is fitting that we | ||
honor her memory and express our condolences to her family and loved | ||
ones; | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Herlinda Rangel | ||
Chacon and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family | ||
acknowledging her profound impact on her family, friends, and be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Herlinda | ||
Rangel Chacon. |
