R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
  memories of John Stanley Vyvlecka Jr., who died on October 6, 2020,
  at the age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, The son of John and Marcella Vyvlecka, John Vyvlecka
  was born in Poteet on January 13, 1937, and grew up with a brother,
  James; he shared a loving union with his wife, the former Mary Ann
  Marek, that spanned nearly six decades, and he was the proud father
  of three children, Brady, Deanna, and Scot; with the passing years,
  he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include four
  grandchildren, Collin, Faith, Derek, and Dylan, and a
  great-granddaughter, Fallon; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Vyvlecka graduated from Jourdanton High School
  in 1957 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving until 1961; he began
  his civilian career at Lewis Plumbing and Electricity in Uvalde,
  and he went on to become a maintenance technician at Mercy Hospital
  in Jourdanton; working out of Jourdanton Hardware, he and his
  brother also repaired air conditioners at night; and
         WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Vyvlecka attended
  St. Matthew and St. Andrew Catholic Churches in Atascosa County,
  and he served his community as a volunteer firefighter and a member
  of the VFW; a true outdoorsman, he delighted in camping, hunting,
  fishing, and collecting arrowheads; he also enjoyed traveling with
  his wife to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Bermuda, Ireland, Portugal, Jamaica,
  and the Bahamas; and
         WHEREAS, John Vyvlecka lived a rich and purposeful life
  centered around his family, his community, and his faith, and he
  will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of John Stanley
  Vyvlecka Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John
  Stanley Vyvlecka.
