R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mellanie Hunt has served with distinction as
  Democratic Party precinct chair of Precinct 4198 in Bexar County;
  and
         WHEREAS, Precinct chairs are integral to the success of their
  party's mission to elect public servants who will build a better
  state and nation for current and future generations; and
         WHEREAS, Because public policy affects our daily lives,
  citizens must exercise their right to vote, and precinct chairs
  play an important role in the election process; their efforts to
  inspire voters to support their parties' candidates are part of a
  proud and vital tradition in our state and nation; and
         WHEREAS, It is most appropriate that we take this opportunity
  to recognize an outstanding Texan who has devoted time and energy
  toward promoting the Democratic Party goals of representing the
  interests of working families, fighting for equal opportunities,
  and advancing a more inclusive society; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Mellanie Hunt for serving as Democratic
  Party precinct chair of Precinct 4198 in Bexar County and extend to
  this dedicated community leader sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mellanie Hunt as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
