H.R. No. 2060

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated restaurants make a
welcome contribution to the prosperity and distinct character of
their communities, and Raul and Rita Segura have enjoyed much
success with Umberto's Italian Grill in San Antonio; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Segura learned the value of hard work at
an early age growing up in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico; they opened
their restaurant in San Antonio in October 2012, naming it after
Mr. Segura's father, Umberto; Mr. Segura serves as the restaurant's
chef; and
WHEREAS, In the four and a half years since its opening,
Umberto's has become a popular gathering place on the west side of
San Antonio, and it has been named a "San Antonio neighborhood
treasure" by KENS TV 5 and received the Blue Plate Award from News 4
San Antonio; and
WHEREAS, Independent businesses play an important role in
meeting the needs of area residents, and it is fitting that
Umberto's be commended for the valued service it provides to the
community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize Umberto's Italian Grill and extend to
Raul and Rita Segura and their staff sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Segura as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
