| WHEREAS, Gary Gandara can take well-deserved pride in the | ||
| outstanding service he has rendered to the residents of his | ||
| community as a member of the Socorro Independent School District | ||
| Board of Trustees; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In a job that requires effective collaboration with | ||
| administrators, classroom teachers, and parents, Mr. Gandara has | ||
| worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible instruction and | ||
| resources for pupils by making policy decisions that promote | ||
| academic achievement and advance the quality of the district's | ||
| schools; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A graduate of Socorro High School, Mr. Gandara | ||
| served on the Socorro City Council from 2002 to 2007 and was elected | ||
| to the area school board in 2009; he is employed as the vice | ||
| president of operations for Socorro Iron and Metal, and he | ||
| concurrently holds a seat on the board of the El Paso Central | ||
| Appraisal District; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to Socorro ISD | ||
| students and staff, Gary Gandara is leading the way in fostering a | ||
| supportive and challenging educational environment, and he has | ||
| earned the deep respect and appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby honor Gary Gandara for his service on the | ||
| Socorro ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best wishes | ||
| for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, Than an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Gandara as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
