| WHEREAS, R. E. "Bob" Parker has been inducted into the Corpus | ||
| Christi Business Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement of South Texas; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, A worldwide, nonprofit organization, Junior | ||
| Achievement is committed to educating young people about free | ||
| enterprise and entrepreneurship and fostering financial literacy; | ||
| the organization's Corpus Christi Business Hall of Fame recognizes | ||
| local individuals who have achieved excellence in their field and | ||
| who have demonstrated vision and innovation, inspiring leadership, | ||
| and community mindedness; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Bob Parker is the founder and president of Repcon, | ||
| Inc.; established in 1983, the company provides maintenance and | ||
| construction services to the refining, chemical, and petrochemical | ||
| industries and specializes in the planning and administering of | ||
| plant revamps and shutdowns; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Parker developed his entrepreneurial spirit and | ||
| strong work ethic at an early age; while he was still in elementary | ||
| school he started his own lawn mowing business, and he later worked | ||
| at his uncle's gas station; he is a graduate of Texas A&I | ||
| University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in general | ||
| engineering; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Bob Parker has greatly contributed to the economic | ||
| vitality of his community and this state, and he is indeed worthy of | ||
| this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Bob Parker on | ||
| his induction into the Corpus Christi Business Hall of Fame and | ||
| extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Parker as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
