WHEREAS, Arthur John Polchinski Jr., an esteemed member of | ||
the Temple community and a friend to many, passed away on September | ||
14, 2021, at the age of 61; and | ||
WHEREAS, The son of Arthur Polchinski Sr. and Elisabeth | ||
Polchinski, Arti Polchinski was born at Fort Jay on Governor's | ||
Island in New York on September 17, 1959; he grew up in a military | ||
family with seven siblings, William, Joseph, Rosie, Mary, Helen, | ||
Dorothy, and Teresa, and graduated from Ansbach American High | ||
School in Germany; a talented athlete, he was scouted by the | ||
Milwaukee Brewers and received a baseball scholarship to the | ||
University of Nevada, Reno; he went on to attend the University of | ||
Mary Hardin-Baylor; and | ||
WHEREAS, While employed in Central Texas as a recreational | ||
therapist for Baylor Scott and White Health, Mr. Polchinski met his | ||
future wife, Susan; the couple became the proud parents of a son, | ||
Avery, and a daughter, Abby; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Polchinski later worked for Wilsonart for many | ||
years; dedicated to the youth of the community, he eventually | ||
joined the staff of Hector P. Garcia Elementary School as a physical | ||
education paraprofessional; he was a nurturing and supportive | ||
presence, and he set a positive example for the students through his | ||
kind and gentle ways; and | ||
WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Polchinski coached many | ||
different sports, and he was involved in swim lessons at UMHB and in | ||
programs at Ralph Wilson Youth Club; a member of the Temple | ||
Quarterback Club, he also assisted with coaching and events at | ||
St. Mary's Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic High School; | ||
his greatest passion was helping others, and his warm smile and | ||
wonderful sense of humor brightened the days of innumerable people; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Arti Polchinski lived a rich and purposeful life | ||
centered around his family and his community, and he will long be | ||
remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, | ||
be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of | ||
Arthur John Polchinski Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to his loved | ||
ones; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Arti | ||
Polchinski. | ||
