| WHEREAS, Arthur John Polchinski Jr., an esteemed member of | ||
| the Temple community and a friend to many, passed away on September | ||
| 14, 2021, at the age of 61; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The son of Arthur Polchinski Sr. and Elisabeth | ||
| Polchinski, Arti Polchinski was born at Fort Jay on Governor's | ||
| Island in New York on September 17, 1959; he grew up in a military | ||
| family with seven siblings, William, Joseph, Rosie, Mary, Helen, | ||
| Dorothy, and Teresa, and graduated from Ansbach American High | ||
| School in Germany; a talented athlete, he was scouted by the | ||
| Milwaukee Brewers and received a baseball scholarship to the | ||
| University of Nevada, Reno; he went on to attend the University of | ||
| Mary Hardin-Baylor; and | ||
| WHEREAS, While employed in Central Texas as a recreational | ||
| therapist for Baylor Scott and White Health, Mr. Polchinski met his | ||
| future wife, Susan; the couple became the proud parents of a son, | ||
| Avery, and a daughter, Abby; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Polchinski later worked for Wilsonart for many | ||
| years; dedicated to the youth of the community, he eventually | ||
| joined the staff of Hector P. Garcia Elementary School as a physical | ||
| education paraprofessional; he was a nurturing and supportive | ||
| presence, and he set a positive example for the students through his | ||
| kind and gentle ways; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Polchinski coached many | ||
| different sports, and he was involved in swim lessons at UMHB and in | ||
| programs at Ralph Wilson Youth Club; a member of the Temple | ||
| Quarterback Club, he also assisted with coaching and events at | ||
| St. Mary's Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic High School; | ||
| his greatest passion was helping others, and his warm smile and | ||
| wonderful sense of humor brightened the days of innumerable people; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Arti Polchinski lived a rich and purposeful life | ||
| centered around his family and his community, and he will long be | ||
| remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of | ||
| Arthur John Polchinski Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to his loved | ||
| ones; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Arti | ||
| Polchinski. | ||
