| WHEREAS, Helen Z. Alfaro is graduating as salutatorian of the | ||
| senior class of West Mesquite High School in 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only | ||
| intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
| highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted | ||
| distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide | ||
| range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social | ||
| studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and | ||
| preparation are myriad; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Josefa and Sotero | ||
| Alfaro, Ms. Alfaro plans to continue her education at Texas A&M | ||
| University--Commerce in interdisciplinary studies; she ultimately | ||
| hopes to teach elementary school and to build a school in another | ||
| country; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Helen Z. Alfaro has | ||
| earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates at | ||
| West Mesquite High School, and her exceptional scholastic ability, | ||
| hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to | ||
| limitless opportunities for this outstanding young Texan; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Helen Z. | ||
| Alfaro, salutatorian of the West Mesquite High School Class of | ||
| 2013, and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as | ||
| she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Alfaro as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
